Mr. Berhane Assefa currently serves as the Director for HJFMRI Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya.  After a successful career in senior management positions in the US managing a contract in excess of 100 Million Dollars. In 2009, he Joined HJF and moved to Kenya to serve as a Deputy Director for the Department of Emerging Infectious Diseases. 2016 he became the Director of the newly established HJFMRI Regional Office in Nairobi where he leads the team in pre and post award execution by ensuring the required support for all HJFMRI managed activities in the region is provided. He also represents HJF and HJFMRI to the various in country partners, officials, and collaborators.
