Working with our military partners, HJFMRI facilitates information sharing and supports collaborative research on infectious diseases with military and civilian partners around the world.
The U.S. Military has been involved in global health security for over a century. Since 2001, HJFMRI has worked alongside military researchers on efforts to identify infectious diseases threats and develop countermeasures for the U.S. military with global relevance. Through this work—developing vaccines, novel treatment and enhancing sustainable research and healthcare systems—HJFMRI also helps improve the health of people worldwide.
In our interconnected world, Global Health Engagement has become paramount to enable security cooperation, partner capacity building, achieving interoperability, and threat reduction. Our long history supporting military medicine and forming successful collaborative research teams help HJFMRI contribute to these areas by enabling medical research progress and improving global health.
