Dr. Irene Mwenderani Akaranga is a registered Pharmacist in the Republic of Kenya with over 15 years of experience in Pharmacy Practice, Regulatory Affairs and Research Compliance.

Dr Akaranga’s work experience spans both the Public and Private Sectors.

She initially worked as a Hospital Pharmacist in Kenya’s Public Service. She later moved to the Private Sector working across twelve African countries gaining expertise in Drug Registration, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Pharmacovigilance (PV) and Clinical Trial Regulation. 

She has had the honor of working for the Ministry of Health (MoH), GlaxoSmithKline Ltd. (GSK), Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and is currently with HJFMRI.

Her role at HJFMRI as the Regulatory Affairs Manager is to support programs within the African region on matters Regulatory Affairs and Research Compliance.
