Linda Opati-Coulson, Director of Legal Services Africa, serving HJFMRI since 2019. Based at the HJFMRI regional office in Nairobi Kenya, Linda is responsible for providing legal advice and representation to HJF and its subsidiaries in connection with business operations in Africa. She reports to Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary Cathy Clark and works closely with the legal team at the HJF home office in Bethesda.
A licensed Kenyan attorney with an extensive career in corporate law in the international non-profit research sector, she has held prior positions as the Head of Legal of International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), as an IP attorney at Kaplan & Stratton law firm and prosecutorial work with the Attorney General’s office in Kenya.
Linda received her post-graduate specialization in Intellectual Property law from the University of South Africa, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree, is a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths.
